Red Lobster (SMH)

What’s up fellow foodies! How’s everyone been? I know I’ve been M.I.A. for a good minute, but I had some things I had to take care of before the end of the year. Now that I got that out of the way, let’s get to it.

My family and I decided to go to Red Lobster because we haven’t eaten there in a while. To say that I was excited would be an understatement. As I poured over their menu, I decided to try their Ultimate Feast. It looked absolutely delicious by the looks of it so I had to try it. Here’s a picture of it from their menu and website:

As I waited with anticipation, I just knew this was going to be a delectable dish. After all, I’ve eaten at Red Lobster before and what I had was absolutely delicious! This time around, not so much. My dish was ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous.

The shrimp scampi was too greasy, the crab legs were a little bland and over cooked, the fried shrimp had no flavor to it whatsoever, the lobster tail was also bland and the rice was chewy.

This is a picture of my Ultimate Feast:

Since I didn’t want my money to go to waste, I forced this subpar meal down. Disappointed is not the word for this feast. SMH. I hate to say it, but it’ll be a while before I eat at Red Lobster again. This Ultimate Feast was a total bust.

Pappadeaux

What’s up fellow foodies! I’m coming at you tonight with another foodie review. After hearing so many people brag about how good PappadeauxΒ is, I decided to give them a try. I ordered the seafood platter which includes: a stuffed crab, fried shrimp, two pieces of fried tilapia, a blue crab cake and one stuffed shrimp. All of it was piled on a plate of dirty rice which was my choice. I opted for dirty rice instead of a plate of fries because I figured that would be better. I snapped a quick pic before I dived into it.

Lord have mercy. This dish has to be one of my biggest letdowns this year in terms of “fine” dining. There was nothing fine about what I ordered. The blue crab cake had little to no crab meat in it, the stuffed crab was stuffed with nothing but batter-no meat whatsoever, the fried shrimp and tilapia was bland and my stuffed shrimp was a total embarrassment. There was nothing stuffed about it. Don’t get me started on the dirty rice because the dirty rice tasted atrocious. I was sitting there trying to figure out for the longest what all the bragging was about. What I got didn’t look or taste like what was on their menu.

Considering the the money I spent, my wait time to get it and how disappointing my dish was, I feel my rating below is absolutely appropriate for Pappadeaux.

Do better Pappadeaux.

Saltgrass Steakhouse

What’s up fellow foodies! I have an amazing restaurant to tell you about. If you are a big seafood lover like myself, you are going to love this place. Saltgrass Steakhouse is a seafood lovers dream for fresh seafood dishes. If you ask me, they are way better than Red Lobster.

The menu is full of dishes packed with intense flavor which is what I love. I went to Saltgrass Steakhouse for the first time while I was in Pensacola, Florida and I’m itching to go back. The service was prompt, friendly and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. My mother and myself tried the shrimp trio dinner and it was delicious! Everything was good from the house made salad to the fresh baked bread.

If you have a Saltgrass SteakhouseΒ in your area and you haven’t checked it out, you are really missing out. I can only speak for the one in Pensacola, Florida when I say everything was amazing!
