Okinawa Sushi & Hibachi Steak House

What’s up fellow foodies! It’s been a minute hasn’t it? I’ve been so busy trying to find some pocket friendly restaurants that I haven’t been able to post regularly. If you are a big Japanese foodie like I am, you are going to love Okinawa Sushi & Hibachi Steak House.

Japanese food is one of my top favorite foods. If I could eat it every day I would. I decided to try the Shrimp Hibachi lunch special which turned out to be a very good pick. Unlike most hibachi lunch specials that skimp on the rice, Okinawa Sushi & Hibachi Steak House is very generous with the rice portions. They were also generous with the veggies and shrimp. I snapped this quick picture before I headed back to the office to chow it down. It tasted as good as it looks.

I was surprised I had 7 pieces of shrimp instead of the usual 3-4 and these were jumbo shrimp fellow foodies! I have to say for $12.09, I got my money worth. What you don’t see in the picture was the medium sized ginger salad that also came with it. I can definitely see myself coming back here again because the food was really good. If you have one in your area, check it out. I hope your experience will be as good as mine.

Panda Express

What’s up fellow foodies! This week has been a bust and a little rough for this foodie. Every new restaurant I’ve tried this week has either been average or horrible. On top of that, I got food poisoning from Taco Bell. Peep my post from yesterday. It hasn’t even been two weeks since I started this blog and my foodie experiences have sucked for the most part. That leads me to Panda Express.

Today, I decided to try Panda Express after hearing so many people talk about it. I decided to order the Panda Bowl with Beijing Beef and Chow Mein. I’ve been hearing how good the Beijing Beef is and I wanted to try it. As soon as I opened it to snap a picture, I wasn’t too thrilled with what I saw. They could’ve kept that. See what I got for yourself:

The beef was overcooked because it was a little tough, the sauce had way too much vinegar and tomato paste and the chow mein was chewy! Good Gawd Almighty! I didn’t like it one bit and I’m not ashamed to say I threw the whole bowl away. Never again and I do mean never. Whoever the cooks were today, they did me dirty. I could’ve kept my $7.00.

Sea-Pak Beer Battered Crab Poppers Review

What’s up fellow foodies! You know I’m coming at you with another review. I noticed that Sea-Pak had a new item in my area, Beer Battered Crab Poppers in the frozen seafood section. You know I had to give them a try.

I was actually pretty excited about these and couldn’t wait to give them a try. Now that I’ve tried them, I could have waited. One, they were pretty greasy after you baked them and two, I kept getting bits and pieces of crab shell in every other bite. That was beyond frustrating and I couldn’t really enjoy them. I wouldn’t recommend a child or teenager snacking on these. They might get choked on the crab shell bits.

I will say you could taste a hint of beer in the batter and that the meat used was definitely crab meat and not the imitation crab. I did appreciate the slight kick of jalapeños in the crab poppers. The citrus tartar sauce sucked. At almost $6.00 a box, I won’t be buying these again. I could’ve saved my money.
